National Runaway Safeline
A line to safety. The National Runaway Safeline (NRS) is the federally designated national communication system for runaway and homeless youth. Youth and family members connect to the 1-800-RUNAWAY hotline or 1800RUNAWAY.org online crisis services to work through problems and find local help from social service agencies and organizations. We brought our extensive experience in commercial television production to an innovative PSA video production series. Our original, highly viewed pro bono PSA video productions brought recognition to NRS, gaining them important funding and the ability to step up their promotional efforts.
NATIONAL RUNAWAY SAFELINE – “LIVE CHAT” :30 SPOT FEATURING LUDACRIS | NON-FOR-PROFIT
A hand extended. Hugely popular rapper, actor, songwriter, and philanthropist Ludacris reaches out to to homeless and runaway youth in this PSA video production.
Designed as a text exchange between Ludacris and a teenager worried about her friend living on the streets, this TV commercial production explains that the NRS is here to help 24/7. Viewers of this PSA video production are introduced to NRS services, including live chat for youth who need someone to talk to or are seeking help with shelter, food, medical assistance, or counseling.
A little extra. The extended version of the “Live Chat” PSA video production with rapper Ludacris includes a little more detail on how the National Runaway Safeline helps youth struggling in school, on the streets, or at home.
Making connections. We shot this PSA video production with lighting and framing that capture the bleakness of life on the streets — and highlight the hope that comes when homeless and runaway youth connect with the NRS.
