CHICAGO, Illinois --- June 12th, 2007 --- Richter Studios, a Chicago-based multimedia firm, is celebrating its 10th anniversary this month. The company was founded by David and Jeremy Richter back in 1997. David was a software engineer for Motorola for several years before forming Richter Studios with Jeremy, who was the multimedia director for AECOM, an architecture and engineering firm. The two originally conceived of starting an animation and interactive boutique. Once digital video became prevalent, however, the pair decided to add video production to their offerings and have since seen the company grow to a staff of 15.

“We’re so thrilled that we’ve been able to succeed and prosper for over a decade in the great city of Chicago,” stated President Jeremy Richter. “To have gone from a couple of freelancers to a staple in the Chicago multimedia industry - with no start-up funding whatsoever - is something we’re very proud of.”

As part of the anniversary celebration, the company is unveiling a new, state-of-the-art web experience that will feature actors, models, streaming video content and numerous other technological advancements. The new address for the site is www.richterstudios.com.

Along with the new web experience, Richter Studios is also changing it’s name to better address the future direction of the company. The new company name will drop the word “Brothers” and will henceforth be known as Richter Studios. Recent developments, including the formation of Richter Pictures, which will specialize in independent features and documentaries, also prompted the name change.

In addition to the new site and name change, Richter Studios is also announcing a long-term partnership with By Inc., a leading provider of presentation software and licensed content. Richter Studios will be the exclusive distributor of By Inc.’s recently announced presentation software, Presented By Inc.

A guiding philosophy for the two brothers has been to embrace and evangelize cost-effective multimedia technologies. They believe it was this approach, paired with a world class staff, that would ultimately win out over the more traditional business model of expensive hardware and limited participation by the market’s giant talent pool.
