Richter Studios Wins 5 Telly Awards For First-Ever Feature Film

CHICAGO, IL---August 31st, 2009---Following up on the success of its sold out premiere and upcoming release on DVD, the feature documentary film "Discovering Deerpath" was recently recognized with 5 separate Telly Awards. The film won for the following categories, History/Biography, Copywriting, Editing, Sound/Sound Design and Videography/Cinematography.
"Being awarded with this many Telly's clearly demonstrates just how wonderful this documentary really is," stated Writer/Director Jeremy Richter. "Not many documentaries can claim they covered events and figures that spanned from Abraham Lincoln to the Apollo 8 Mission but this one can and history buffs everywhere are going to be thrilled with this effort."
"Discovering Deerpath" is a historical documentary about the town of Lake Forest, Illinois. The film is narrated by A&E Host Bill Kurtis and features Astronaut Jim Lovell, Iwo Jima Veteran Greeley Wells and Olympic Gold Medalist Matt Grevers. The film covers the unique history of the town and its citizens dating back to the early 1800's. The movie premiered on November 15th, 2008 at the Gorton Center in Lake Forest, IL. Bill Zwecker from the Chicago Sun-Times described the film as a "rare and delightful piece of documentary filmmaking."
