paris shot
To Paris and back Not many creative firms - even the very elite - can claim they shot on location in Venice, Rome, London or Paris. Our employees made this happen through their hard work and persistence. Luck had nothing to do with it. The fruits of our labor can be seen at nielsenaswers.com.

Salary
Richter Studios offers its employees a competitive compensation package, starting with their salaries. For each position, we have clearly-communicated levels of compensation that correlate to a person’s experience, years with the company, and daily commitment to its growth.

Comprehensive Healthcare
Richter Studios offers a comprehensive healthcare package that includes medical, dental, eye, and disability.

Pension Plan
In addition to salary, Richter Studios provides a competitive 401K plan for qualified employees (full-time and employed by the company for at least a year).

Spot Rewards
Every employee is motivated differently. At Richter Studios, we have a wide range of reward incentives, including cash bonuses, dining gifts, tickets to games, company outings and - believe it or not - a pat on the back. We do this because we want to our employees to be recognized for their outstanding contributions the minute it happens. This keeps you, our most valuable asset, motivated and happy.

Quality of Life
No company is perfect but we strive to get better each and every day. Our employee turnover is extremely low and that’s because we work very hard to have a fun and productive environment. Okay, we’ll admit it - it doesn’t hurt to have a few game consoles hanging around. Really Casual Fridays is a another nice thing we have going as well....

3D Modeler/Animator
As of February 2008, we have not worked on a single character animation project so if this is your thing, you may want to apply elsewhere. But we are always looking for individuals with experience in technical and demonstrative animations (showing how a product or process works). We are a Modo/LightWave shop but have some familiarity with Maya.

Art Director
We're looking for individuals who posses a talent for conceptualizing branding driven media, with the technical knowledge to apply these concepts into web, interactive, print, and/or video formats. Strong story-boarding and communication skills are essential. The ability to collaborate with and oversee our creative team of designers, photographers, cinematographers, editors, animators and programers is a must.

Cinematographer (Camera Operator)
We’re looking for individuals with lots of talking head shot experience. Approximately 60% of what we shoot consists of talking head shots and, in our instance, we expect our Cinematographers to handle audio for these types of shots. For B-Roll footage, we are looking for motivated shooters, which means they can find interesting shots even in a distribution warehouse in Idaho. We often shoot in studios and occasionally with actors. Typically, our shoots will consist of a 2 to 4 man crew.

Editor
We’re looking for “busy bee” Editors that don’t expect everything to be handed to them, which can often mean looking through hours of footage and crafting a story from it. Being able to clean up audio and research/recommend appropriate music tracks is a big plus. We are a Final Cut Pro shop and our videos are typically output for the web or DVD. Proficiency across all Final Cut Studio applications is a strong plus.

Flash Animator
The type of Flash Animator we are looking for would be an exceptional Illustrator/Animator/Sound Designer. We specialize in the B2B space, not character-based (cartoon) web sites - so only apply if you have this type of experience. The ability to grasp a client’s message and come up with a killer concept to convey it is a must. A working knowledge of ActionScript 3.0 is a strong plus.

Graphic Designer
This position requires someone that is versatile and extremely fast. Approximately 85% of our your daily work would involve creating presentation slides and web site designs, while the other 15% would involve print design. Strong illustration skills are a plus, however having good conceptualization skills is even better. Being able to figure out what needs to be done and executing your own is the Holy Grail.

Illustrator
We need individuals who can conceptualize and create vector-based illustrations of processes, themes and icons - lots and lots of icons. And you need to be able to draw fast and come up with multiple concepts. If you have excellent graphic design skills, we’ll have something for you to do.

Lighting Designer/Technician
We have a significant demand for individuals experienced in lighting a variety of on-location and studio environments including Green Screens and White Cycs. If you have the ability to assess the lighting needs of a given scene and can quickly stage an appropriate lightning design, we’d love to hear about it.

Motion Graphics Artist
If you’re into making videos really kick - and you’re pretty snappy at conceptualizing animations and then making them happen quickly in After Effects - then we need to talk. Reality Trip: Most of our clients are in the B2B space - which means you can have free reign to create some really cool stuff but have to leave your “I wish I were creating a Nike Ad” luggage at the door. You would be responsible for a lot of text and logo animations, and the occasional stylized, technical or demonstrative animation. Co-Founder disclaimer: 1) Using the template animations in After Effects disqualifies your sincerity as an animator; and 2) We’re looking for animators that select their music first and build an animation around its style/tempo - not the other way around. We apologize for this soap boxing.

Music Composer
We're looking for the next Alan Silvestri. Because we’re always producing videos with unique overtones and themes, finding licensed music that fits the bill is often out of the question. We want individuals with a passion for music and with the technical ability to quickly compose custom scores appropriate to specific productions.

Photographer
From taking company head-shots to shooting in the studio, and from the Eiffel Tower to the construction of a new high-rise, still-photography is used in a wide-variety of the projects we do. All of our video shoots are supplemented with still photography. We require versatility and proficiency in our photographers. The technical skills required to retouch your photography is a must.

Programmer (Interactive Media Developer)
What we're looking for are individuals who have good experience with Web 2.0 technologies and/or a great grasp of Adobe Director/Flash. We write our own software applications and expect programmers with the meticulous foresight to proof their own work and ultimately avoid numerous sessions of reprogramming. In the end, good time-management and accuracy is what it boils down to.

Producer
In this position, your main responsibilities are to get the job done on time and within the approved budget. Both working with clients and managing talent/resources, you need to maintain a positive “can-do” work ethic. Our clients want their stuff to work the first time, not the third or fourth. Being a self-starter, communicating often with the client and motivating the available resources are all key ingredients to this position. Frequent travel is likely.

Sales Executive
We're looking for sales executives who know how to identify and close solid new business opportunities. Our experience has taught us that the right candidate would have an innate ability to qualify prospects, understand their needs and come up with innovate ways to earn their trust. A long-term strategic sales approach is welcomed but only after you've proven yourself to be a bona-fide salesperson with existing product/service offerings. Multimedia services represent our core offerings but we also have unique sales opportunities through our sister companies, By Inc. (which sells its own presentation software and stock image/video content) and Richter Bros. Pictures (which creates independent features and documentaries).

Sound Designer/Audio Technician
In our opinion, great audio can make all the difference with videos or web experiences. Our productions are becoming increasingly sophisticated and often require sound design. For audio recording, we capture a fair amount of sound in controlled studio environments and a good deal in less-than-ideal circumstances (ie. at a 50-story high-rise construction site or on a diary farm). Beyond the recording, the ideal candidate would also have a mastery of post-production techniques, including noise-reduction, balancing audio and compositing everything with the final musical score.

Writer
For 2007, we completed over 100 videos - each with a script driving them. Over 85% of our work is B2B and requires a fair amount of conference calls with our clients. Creating copy for web sites and interactive media does occur from time-to-time. We also could use your brain for sales pitches, company press releases and a host of other noun/verb related things.
